As the world marks the 2025 Christmas celebrations, Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has called on Nigerians to prioritise love, forgiveness, and active generosity toward the less privileged.
In a heartfelt Christmas message released from the church's headquarters, the renowned cleric described the birth of Jesus Christ as a transformative event in human history.
He emphasised that the season serves as a profound reminder of God’s love for mankind and the peace that Christ’s entry into the world established.
“As we celebrate Christmas, I congratulate every Christian because it is indeed marvellous and wonderful that our Saviour was born,” Primate Ayodele stated.
He noted that many individuals have seen their lives shaped and redirected by the teachings of Christ, who remains the only reason for the season.
Beyond the spiritual reflections, the Primate urged believers to move from theory to action by supporting their neighbours.
Addressing the current economic climate, he stressed that the true meaning of the season is found in sharing with those who cannot afford to celebrate.
Leading by example, Primate Ayodele revealed that the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church recently conducted a massive outreach, distributing food items, including bags of rice and live chickens, to members of the community to ensure they could celebrate with dignity.
“This is a season of giving and sharing. For those who have more than enough, please remember those who are in need. Jesus taught us to love our neighbours, pray for our enemies, and live peacefully with all men,” he noted.
Reflecting on the state of the nation, the cleric offered prayers for Nigeria, asking for divine intervention to bring lasting peace and stability.
He urged citizens to use the holiday for deep reflection on Christ’s virtues of sacrifice and compassion, which he believes are essential for national healing.
Primate Ayodele also prayed that the presence of Jesus Christ would be felt in every household across the country, wishing all Nigerians a peaceful and joyful Christmas.
