•Calls Response to Primate Ayodele’s Prophecies ‘Ignorant and Shameful’
In a scathing attack, the Alliance for Good Governance (AGG) has come down hard on the APC League of Professionals (ALP), labelling its recent criticism of Primate Elijah Ayodele's prophecies for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a “shameful display of ignorance, misinformation, and outright falsehood.”
In a strongly worded statement signed by its president, Sola Johnson, the AGG accused the ALP of embarrassing itself by sponsoring media attacks against the renowned cleric, who has been a consistent source of spiritual counsel and warnings for the nation's leadership.
“Day in and day out, the man of God is criticised for his prophecies, but this particular one by ALP is laughable.
“It reeks of ignorance, misunderstanding, and drunken misinformation.
“For a group that claims to be professionals, they have only succeeded in presenting themselves like stark illiterates and rumour peddlers,” Johnson stated.
He specifically dismissed the ALP's claim that Primate Ayodele advised President Tinubu not to contest in 2027, calling it a “baseless fabrication.”
Johnson questioned how a cleric who has been offering strategic advice to the president could suddenly make such a statement, concluding that the ALP had “stooped so low to concoct lies.”
The AGG also defended Primate Ayodele’s warning about President Tinubu's dealings with U.S. President Donald Trump, describing it as “timely and crucial.”
The group insisted that such counsel is meant to help the president make informed decisions, and accused the ALP of being more interested in attacking the prophet than protecting the president's interests.
Furthermore, the AGG lambasted the ALP for its assertion that prophets should not speak on economic matters, branding the comment as evidence of “serious illiteracy.”
Johnson cited biblical examples, such as Joseph saving Egypt from famine and Elijah foretelling economic recovery, to argue against the view.
On security, the AGG clarified that Primate Ayodele supports the concept of state police but has only warned against its potential misuse by politicians.
The group concluded by warning President Tinubu not to be misled by groups like the ALP, which they accused of plotting his downfall.
“This group is not after Tinubu’s success; they are after his failure. By trying to turn him against the word of God, they are pushing him toward defeat.
“The president must be very careful of such misguided elements,” Johnson cautioned.
