K1 De Ultimate Involved in Airport Incident Over Alcohol on ValueJet Flight, Says FAAN

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has alleged that renowned Fuji musician, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, attempted to board a domestic flight at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, with alcohol on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

FAAN's Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Obiageli Orah, confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday, noting that it involved a ValueJet flight from Abuja to Lagos.

According to FAAN, the acclaimed Fuji star was scheduled to board ValueJet Flight VK 201 when he was found carrying an unidentified liquid substance, later revealed to be alcohol, despite repeated warnings from airport security personnel and the flight captain.

“In line with international aviation standards, particularly Nigeria’s National Civil Aviation Security Programme and ICAO Annexe 17, liquids exceeding 100ml are prohibited on flights unless medically necessary and duly declared,” FAAN stated.

Despite being informed of this regulation, K1 allegedly refused to comply.

Matters escalated when he was asked to step aside for clarification, during which he reportedly spilt the contents of his flask, confirmed to be alcohol, on an airline security officer.

Efforts by the flight captain to intervene were also allegedly met with resistance.

Once boarding was completed, the captain ordered the aircraft doors closed.

However, the musician reportedly moved to the front of the aircraft and refused to leave the area, prompting his removal by the airport’s Aviation Security (AVSEC) crime unit.

He was later released after a preliminary investigation.

FAAN emphasised its commitment to upholding aviation safety and professionalism, warning that any individual who compromises airport operations will be held accountable, regardless of status.
