The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has been trending in recent days after issuing a warning to the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, about a potential removal from office in 2026.
In a now-viral video recorded during a church service, the prophet, addressing his congregation, urged Governor Sanwo-Olu to reconcile with his political godfather, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, or risk being removed from office.
He cautioned the governor against heeding hearsay or advice from individuals encouraging him to remain strong-willed, warning that such people would abandon him when a crisis strikes.
Primate Ayodele further stated that if the governor fails to retrace his steps immediately, neither prayers nor fasting would be sufficient to save him when the time comes.
These were his words: “I had said Sanwo-Olu and Tinubu will fight. Sanwo-Olu’s and Tinubu’s fight hasn’t started; if he isn’t careful, he will be removed. I want to beg Tinubu not to allow them to remove him.
“I’m calling on Sanwo-Olu to reconcile to avoid being disgracefully removed. Unfortunately, there are no elderly people in politics; they are all after what they would eat, and they don’t arrange things. If there is no money, they don’t do anything.
Sanwo-Olu needs to calm down, find a solution between him and his boss. It is not well.
“Once you leave there, you will realise people don’t respect you; they are only with you because you are still there.
“I want to urge you to ignore anyone advising you to be strong-hearted. If you are not careful, they will remove you in 2026. Prayers will not be able to save you then if you don’t retrace your steps.”

Just a few days after Primate Ayodele made this prophecy, on Sunday, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, accompanied by members of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), the apex political body in the Lagos APC, visited President Tinubu to apologise, according to ThisDay newspaper.
The Chairman of the GAC, Alhaji Tajudeen Olusi, who received the president in Lagos, noted that Tinubu was visibly displeased with certain individuals in the state, particularly the governor, and therefore pleaded for forgiveness.
In response, the president, according to multiple sources, said: “It’s all over now. All is forgiven,”
assuring everyone present that he was no longer angry with anyone, including Sanwo-Olu.
At that moment, Sanwo-Olu and other GAC members reportedly prostrated before the president in a clear gesture of remorse and reconciliation.
This development appears to be a direct acknowledgement of the prophet’s warning, a move possibly aimed at averting political fallout.
Until this reconciliation, President Tinubu had reportedly avoided the governor during his visit to Lagos.
This was evident at a public event last week, where Tinubu declined a handshake from Sanwo-Olu.
At another event, the governor was conspicuously absent, and Tinubu instead acknowledged the deputy governor when referencing the Lagos State Government.
