Is Primate Ayodele’s Prophecy on Sanwo-Olu, Tinubu’s Crisis Coming to Pass?

Several mysteries have unfolded in Nigeria’s political space. Still, if what transpired on Saturday between Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and President Bola Tinubu wasn’t a mistake, then we may be on the verge of witnessing one of the biggest political fracas in the country.

Governor Sanwo-Olu has been trending since yesterday, following the cold reception he received from President Tinubu when he attempted to greet him at the commissioning of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway.

The president, who received a standing ovation upon arrival at the fully packed event centre, was seen in a video exchanging pleasantries with governors, senators, and other VIPs.

Some attendees who weren’t seated in the front row even came forward to shake hands with the president, who warmly extended his hand to everyone, until it was Governor Sanwo-Olu’s turn.

Surprisingly, despite showing the utmost respect and bowing humbly to acknowledge President Tinubu’s superiority, Governor Sanwo-Olu was snubbed.

The president neither extended a handshake nor acknowledged him with a wave or even eye contact. It was an embarrassing moment that caught the attention of many.

While this incident does not conclusively prove a rift between the governor and his political godfather, it certainly fuels speculation.

There have been whispers of a political crisis brewing since the Lagos State Assembly speakership tussle, rumours further reinforced by a prophecy from Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church and widely regarded as Nigeria’s leading prophet.

In 2023, Primate Ayodele predicted a crisis between Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu; around the same time, he also foresaw tensions between then-Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and his successor, Sim Fubara.

According to the Daily Post:

“He noted that the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and the Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will have their issues; Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and his successor, Sim Fubara; Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, and his successor, Sheriff Oborevwori, among several others.”

So, the question now is: Is Primate Ayodele’s prophecy already coming to pass?
