Dangote Group Paid N450bn in Taxes, Commits N900bn to Infrastructure

Names Refinery Road After Tinubu

President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has disclosed that his conglomerate paid a staggering N450 billion in taxes to the Federal Government in 2024, the highest by any private entity in Nigeria.

Dangote made the revelation while addressing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the company’s tax contribution surpassed that of all Nigerian banks combined.

Despite the massive tax outlay, the Group is investing an additional N900 billion in infrastructure projects across the country, he said.

Highlighting the company’s commitment, Dangote pointed to the Deep Sea Port Access Road as a flagship initiative under the Federal Government’s tax credit scheme.

“It is one of eight major road projects totalling 500 kilometres, including two in Borno State that will eventually link Nigeria to Chad and Cameroon,” he said.

Commending Tinubu’s leadership, Dangote said the President has restored investor confidence and created an enabling environment for the private sector.

He also lauded Tinubu for championing the Lekki Deep Sea Port project, assuring him of continued private sector collaboration in driving national development.

In a symbolic gesture, Dangote announced that the main road leading to the multibillion-dollar Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals complex would be renamed “Bola Ahmed Tinubu Road” in honour of the President.

“The Dangote refinery complex is, in many ways, your brainchild. Let me just say one thing — the main road leading into our refinery is now to be known as Bola Ahmed Tinubu Road,” Dangote said.

The announcement drew a warm response from Tinubu, who rose to shake hands with Dangote, prompting applause from dignitaries present.
