Despite surging global crude oil prices, Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals has reaffirmed its commitment to stabilising the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, in Nigeria.
In a statement issued by the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, the company noted that it has consistently reduced petrol prices, demonstrating its resolve to cushion the economic impact on Nigerian consumers.
“Our commitment to price stability is rooted in our broader mission to support the Nigerian economy and reduce the burden on citizens.
“We are dedicated to delivering affordable, high-quality petroleum products while maintaining operational efficiency and sustainability,” the statement read.
The refinery, touted as the world’s largest single-train facility, aligns its operations with the Federal Government’s “Nigeria First” policy, which promotes the use of locally produced goods and services.
The company emphasised its role in enhancing Nigeria’s energy security, preserving foreign exchange, and supporting national economic recovery, in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Dangote further credited the Federal Government’s Naira-for-Crude Initiative for enabling the downward trend in fuel prices.
“We are immensely grateful to His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu, for making this possible,” Chiejina added.
Reassuring stakeholders, including consumers, the government, and partners, Dangote Petroleum Refinery promised continued focus on affordability, quality, and national interest.
“We are committed to ensuring that the benefits of local refining are fully realised by all Nigerians,” the firm stated.
The company’s latest assurance comes at a critical time when rising crude prices threaten to push fuel costs higher, potentially straining household budgets across the country.
