President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will officially swear in seven newly appointed ministers on Monday, according to a statement released Sunday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.
The move follows the Senate's recent clearance of these ministers after a comprehensive screening process held in Abuja last week.
The new ministers are being appointed to a range of portfolios, spanning key sectors within the administration's strategic framework.
According to the statement, the new appointees include Dr Nentawe Yilwatda, who will serve as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, and Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, appointed as the Minister of Labour and Employment.
Bianca Odinaka Odumegwu-Ojukwu has been designated as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, where she will support Nigeria’s international relations efforts.
Also joining the Cabinet are Dr Jumoke Oduwole as the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment (focused on trade and investment initiatives) and Idi Mukhtar Maiha as the Minister of Livestock Development, a new ministry reflecting the administration's emphasis on food security and agricultural growth.
Rounding out the list are Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, appointed as the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, and Dr Suwaiba Said Ahmad, who will serve as the Minister of State for Education.
The additions to Tinubu’s Cabinet come as the administration seeks to bolster its approach to critical areas such as poverty alleviation, job creation, and educational reform.
Each of the ministers is expected to bring specialized expertise and vision to their respective roles, supporting Nigeria’s economic growth and improving public welfare.
The swearing-in ceremony, scheduled for Monday, will take place at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
