•Commends Prophet’s Impact on Community
Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has honoured the memory of Primate Elijah Ayodele’s late father by renaming a street in Ikere-Ekiti after him.
Formerly known as ‘Area One,’ the street, which hosts Primate Ayodele’s church, is now officially called Ayomate Avenue.
The renaming was a joint effort led by local leaders, including the Ogoga of Ikere-Ekiti, Oba Samuel Alagbado, his chiefs, and local government officials, and was ultimately endorsed by Governor Oyebanji.
The governor explained that the decision was a tribute to the contributions of Primate Ayodele’s late father and the positive impact Primate Ayodele continues to have on the community.
Primate Ayodele expressed gratitude for the honour, viewing it as a celebration of God’s work through his family and their church.
He praised Governor Oyebanji’s commitment to development in Ikere-Ekiti and pledged that his church would support local economic growth and the governor's initiatives.
“This gracious gesture reflects His Excellency’s love for God and the people of Ekiti State,” Primate Ayodele said, adding, “Our presence here will usher in a new dawn for this area, and we are committed to lending our support.”
He announced plans to address water scarcity by installing boreholes across the local government area, demonstrating his church’s dedication to community support.
Primate Ayodele’s father was a respected figure in Ikere-Ekiti, known for his benevolence and support for the community.
Continuing his father’s legacy, Primate Ayodele has launched several humanitarian efforts, including offering rice at subsidized rates, awarding scholarships, and empowering widows.
