Helicopter Crash: Iranian president dies

 

The President of Iran, Ayatollah Ebrahim Raisi is dead. He died on the morning of Monday, May 20, 2024, after his helicopter crashed in a mountainous region of the country on Sunday, May 19, 2024.

This position was made known by the Iranian state media.

It would be recalled that rescue teams had been scouring the area since Sunday afternoon after a helicopter carrying Raisi, the foreign minister and other officials had gone missing.

But by early Monday, the relief workers located the missing helicopter, with state TV saying the president had died.

According to the state television, “The servant of the Iranian nation, Ayatollah Ebrahim Raisi has achieved the highest level of martyrdom whilst serving the people.”
