A member of the House of Representatives, Dennis Idahosa, was on Saturday, February 17, 2024, declared winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) direct governorship primary contest.
The declaration was made by the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, with Idahosa clinching 40,453 votes to defeat Senator Monday Okpebholo (Edo Central) who got 100 votes.
With this development, Idahosa, who represents the Ovia constituency in the House of Representatives, will fly the APC ticket in the September governorship election.
