Defilement By Penetration: Dr Olufemi Olaleye Is A Dangerous Offender, Must Be Ashamed, Judge Declares

•As Court Orders Double Life Imprisonment 

The Lagos State Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court, Ikeja, presided over by Justice Rahman Oshodi, on Tuesday, insisted that the Medical Director of Optical Cancer Care Foundation, Dr Olufemi Olaleye, is a dangerous offender who must be ashamed. 

The judge therefore sentenced the convicted Dr Olaleye to double life imprisonment for defiling the 16-year-old niece of his wife.

Justice Oshodi arrived at the decision after finding Dr Olaleye guilty of the charge made against him by the Lagos State Government, LASG.

Delivering judgment, Justice Oshodi, who insisted that the prosecution proved the two-count of defilement and sexual assault by penetration against the convict beyond every reasonable doubt, insisted that the evidence adduced before the court, against the defendant, was compelling and proven beyond reasonable doubt.

The judge further declared that the confessional statement of the defendant which he made before his lawyer, Mr Olalekan Buruji, and the DPO of Anthony Village Police Station that he regretted his act proved that he committed the offence.

In holding that the oral statement, which Dr Olaleye denied, had the NBA seal of Buruji on it and his denial did not hold water, Justice Oshodi insisted that the medical practitioner is a dangerous offender and must be ashamed.

Dr Olaleye was brought before Justice Oshodi on two counts that had to do with defilement and sexual assault by penetration of his wife’s niece, made against him by the LASG.

Dr Olaleye was specifically arraigned on November 30, 2022, and had pleaded not guilty to the charge.

According to the prosecution, the offence contravened Sections 137 and 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
