Alleged Homicide: Open Your Defence, Court Orders Late Osinachi's Husband

The no-case submission filed by Peter Nwachukwu, the husband of the late gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu, was on Tuesday dismissed.

It was thrown out by Justice Njideka Nwosu-Iheme of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Wuse Zone 2, Abuja.

In her ruling, the judge held that the prosecution had established a case against the defendant.

It would be recalled that the Federal Government, FG, had filed a 23-count charge against Nwachukwu over the death of Osinachi.

Nwachukwu pleaded not guilty, and Justice Nwosu-Iheme directed that the defendant be remanded at the Kuje correctional facility pending further hearing.

While Nwachukwu's trial lasted, the prosecution called 17 witnesses to testify. The trial commenced on June 20, 2022, and ended on March 10, 2023.
