The claim that he had been appointed as the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), was on Wednesday denied by the retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, Hakeem Odumosu.
It would be recalled that news had filtered into the air on Tuesday night that President, Bola Tinubu, had appointed AIG Odumosu as the Chairman of the Commission.
But in an exclusive chat with The Punch, the retired police officer refuted the claim, stating that the information emanated from mischief-makers.
According to him, “Members of the public should disregard the information.
“I have been inundated with so many calls and messages between yesterday and today on a purported 'EFCC Appointment'.
“I just want to use this opportunity to debunk this information and say it’s untrue. This information must have emanated from mischief-makers and should be disregarded.”
