'Okupe Guilty Of Money Laundering, Convicted'—JUDGE

Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu of an Abuja Federal High Court on Monday convicted former Senior Special Assistant on Media to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Doyin Okupe, of breaching the Money Laundering Act.

The court convicted Okupe after finding him guilty of contravening Sections 16(1)&(2) of the Money Laundering Act and accepting cash in excess of the threshold allowed under the Act without going through a financial institution.

The convicted Okupe is the Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council of the Labour Party (LP).
