Victoria Uwaje, Head of Corporate Communications at Nestlé Nigeria, has revealed that the beverage manufacturing company, is projecting more entries in next year’s Nestlé Media Award.
She made the revelation at the 2022 edition of the award held last Saturday at its corporate head office in Ilupeju, Lagos State, Nigeria.
The award which is sponsored by the beverage giant is dedicated to honour journalists in Nigeria whose stories impacted the community focusing on Nestlé's core areas among which are Agriculture, Women Empowerment, Nutrition & affordable food, and Community Development.
The idea of the award is to stimulate journalists to create a change through their reportage, said Uwaje.
Uwaje, who is also a member of the panel of judges, said the number of entries in this year’s event increased from the maiden edition last year.
“There is a lot of improvement from the last edition, and I expect next year’s edition to be even better.
“With the 2022 Nestlé Media Award out of the way, the next competition starts now. It starts with being deliberate.
“We try to add value, inspire and motivate journalists to do more than they have always done through their reportage, and we believe this is one of the many ways we can cause that positive change in the community,” Uwaje said.
Meanwhile, the 2022 Nestlé Nigeria Award ceremony saw a deluge of journalists from the print, electronic and new media.
