The victory of Biodun Oyebanji of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the June 2022 governorship poll, held in Ekiti State, was on Thursday upheld by the Ekiti Election Petition Tribunal.
Oyebanji's election was sustained by the Tribunal while dismissing the petition of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate, Mr. Segun Oni.
In its judgment delivered in Ado-Ekiti, the Tribunal, presided over by Justice Wilfred Kpochi, resolved all issues in contention against Oni and his party, SDP.
The Tribunal specifically declared that the petition filed by Oni against the return of Oyebanji and Afuye respectively “failed woefully head or tail.”
