Moves by the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, to get bail was on Wednesday thwarted by the refusal of Justice Binta Nyako of a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja to grant the IPOB leader’s bail bid.
In his ruling, Justice Nyako held that since Kanu was earlier granted bail in 2017 and jumped the bail, the court must first determine the real reason he jumped the bail before applying for another one.
It would be recalled that the judge had on April 8, exonerated the Federal Government on the allegation that the leader of the IPOB was forcefully abducted abroad to stand his trial.
