Drug peddling: Abba Kyari loses bid to get bail

The application for bail filed by suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, an Assistant Commissioner of Police, Sunday J. Ubua was on Monday rejected by Justice Emeka Nwite of a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, Nigeria.

It would be recalled that Abba Kyari alongside others had been alleged to have been involved in unlawful drug dealings.

In his ruling, Justice Emeka Nwite held that the prosecution has placed sufficient materials before the court to warrant the refusal of bail to both senior police officers.

But the judge granted an accelerated hearing of the case.
