The head of the Interim National Government, Chief Ernest Shonekan is dead.
Shonekan who led the interim government that succeeded the junta of General Ibrahim Babangida died at the age of 85 in Lagos.
It would be recalled that Shonekan led the government between August 26 and November 17, 1993, but was ousted in a coup led by late General Sani Abacha.
