Access Bank UK Polo Day 2026 to Fund New Classrooms in Northern Nigeria

Windsor, UKAccess Bank will host its annual UK Polo Day on Saturday, July 4, at Windsor, bringing together global business leaders, investors, and cultural influencers for what has become one of the international social calendar’s most anticipated events.

While the guest list reads like a who’s who of finance and entrepreneurship, the real focus of this year’s Polo Day is philanthropy.

Proceeds from the 2026 event will directly fund the construction of additional classroom blocks in underserved communities across Northern Nigeria, where millions of children remain out of school due to lack of infrastructure.

For many families in the region, access to a classroom is far from guaranteed. Distance, poverty, and a shortage of school buildings continue to drive Nigeria’s out-of-school crisis, particularly in the north. Access Bank’s initiative aims to close that gap, one brick at a time.

“Every year, we bring together an extraordinary community of leaders from across the world,” said Jamie Simmonds, Managing Director of The Access Bank UK.

“What matters most is the chance to make a real, lasting difference in the lives of young Nigerians who simply need a place to learn,” he added.

For Access Bank, education and financial inclusion are part of the same mission. The bank sees classroom investment as long-term economic development, not just charity.

Each new school block helps keep children, especially girls, in education, attracts teachers, and signals to communities that their future is worth investing in.

What began as a sporting fixture has evolved into a global networking forum and a showcase for African enterprise

The Polo Day creates space for unhurried conversations that often turn into cross-border partnerships, all while channelling resources to communities that investors rarely see.

This year’s event comes as trade corridors shift and development finance faces new pressures. Access Bank’s ability to convene trusted relationships across continents puts it in a unique position to lead. And Windsor, just outside London, provides the perfect setting: prestigious, yet removed enough for real dialogue.

The symbolism isn’t lost on Nigerian observers. A bank founded in Nigeria is leveraging one of England’s most prestigious social events to build classrooms in Kaduna

It’s a clear statement about where Access Bank believes its responsibilities lie, with shareholders, yes, but also with the communities that shaped it.

On July 4, the matches will be played. Deals will be discussed. And in Northern Nigeria, a child will soon walk into a classroom that didn’t exist before.
