The President of the Society of Digital Newspaper Owners of Nigeria (SDNON), Adeniyi Ifetayo, has extended warm congratulations to Dr Osahon Okunbo, Executive Director of Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited (PINL), following his recognition as Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2025 by Vanguard Newspapers.
The honour was conferred on April 24, 2026, at the Eko Hotels and Suites Convention Centre in Lagos during the prestigious Vanguard Personality of the Year Awards, a ceremony widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most respected platforms for celebrating excellence in public and private life.
Approved by Vanguard’s Board of Editors, the award highlights Dr Okunbo’s transformative investments and leadership across the hospitality, oil and gas, agriculture, arts, and built environment sectors swhich are which are critical to Nigeria’s economic diversification.
In his congratulatory message, Ifetayo described the recognition as well-deserved, noting that Dr Okunbo embodies the enterprise-driven patriotism Nigeria urgently needs.
The award was presented by former Ogun State Governor, Olusegun Osoba, at a ceremony attended by dignitaries nationwide.
Speaking after receiving the honour, Dr Okunbo reflected on the emotional significance of the moment, recalling that his late father, Captain Idahosa Wells Okunbo, had previously received the same award.
Adesuwa Rhodes Okunbo, CEO of Aruwa Capital Management, emphasised that the recognition reflects a strong family tradition of enterprise, praising Osahon’s commitment to building on his father’s legacy.
Beyond business, Dr Okunbo champions African arts through The Osahon Okunbo Foundation and contributes to Nigeria’s cultural revitalisation as a board member of the National Theatre Lagos, now the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts.
Other honourees at the Vanguard awards included Governors of Zamfara, Taraba, Cross River, and Yobe states; former Governor Jim Nwobodo; Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo; Bishop Hassan Kukah; and businessman Sayyu Dantata.
