NESCAFÉ Brews National Unity with 65,000 Cups for Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary

In a remarkable gesture blending global celebration with national pride, NESCAFÉ Nigeria marked International Coffee Day and Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary by serving 65,000 cups of coffee to consumers across 25 cities nationwide.

The large-scale activation spanned cities including Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kano, Ibadan, Enugu, Jos, Kaduna, Benin, Asaba, Calabar, and Sokoto, among others.

NESCAFÉ teams reached consumers in universities, business districts, markets, and community hubs, creating moments of warmth and connection inspired by the spirit of giving and unity.

The initiative came on the heels of the relaunch of NESCAFÉ 3-in-1, which now features a smoother, creamier texture, a rich milky taste, and the brand’s signature aroma, developed through extensive consumer feedback.

The new product also comes in design-for-recycling packaging, reflecting Nestlé’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Speaking on the dual celebration, Jean-Pierre Duplan, Category Manager, Coffee, Nestlé Nigeria, said: “Earlier this year, we relaunched NESCAFÉ 3-in-1, offering an improved flavour and smoother creaminess in a convenient sachet.

“The relaunch was shaped by Nigerian consumer preferences while advancing our sustainability commitments.

“We recognised that International Coffee Day coincided with the nation’s 65th Independence Anniversary, so we decided to serve 65,000 cups across the country to celebrate both milestones and reaffirm NESCAFÉ’s role in everyday Nigerian coffee moments.”

For many Nigerians, the campaign provided a memorable experience.

Tobilola Felix, one of the recipients, expressed delight at being part of the celebration.

He said, “It was such a pleasant surprise to get a cup of NESCAFÉ on my way to work.

“It made me proud to be part of both International Coffee Day and Nigeria’s Independence Day celebration. It gave me a great start to my day.”

Beyond celebrating milestones, NESCAFÉ continues to make a tangible impact through its MYOWBU (My Own Business) program, a Nestlé Professional initiative designed to foster youth entrepreneurship and financial independence.

So far, the program has empowered over 1,400 young Nigerians to start small businesses, contributing to community development and job creation across the country.

As one of Africa’s leading food and beverage companies, Nestlé Nigeria remains committed to enriching lives through high-quality nutrition, sustainable business practices, and impactful social initiatives. With over 2,300 employees, three factories, and seven branch offices, the company continues to drive innovation and excellence through its iconic brands, Maggi, Milo, Golden Morn, Cerelac, and Nestlé Pure Life.
