While many politicians often disregard prophetic warnings, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State appears to be an exception, as his most recent political move aligns with warnings Primate Ayodele issued to him on several occasions.
Just hours ago, the governor announced his decision to remain with the People's Democratic Party (PDP) while simultaneously declaring his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's second term bid in 2027.
This announcement comes amidst widespread reports from various outlets suggesting that Adeleke had finalised plans to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC), especially after some of his close associates had already made the switch.
In his own words, Governor Adeleke stated: “I remain in the PDP, the party that gave me the platform to serve the good people of Osun.
“I have been unanimously endorsed by the Osun PDP for a second term in 2026. Our party in Osun has also endorsed President @officialABAT for re-election in 2027, recognising him as a proud son of our state. PDP remains the most popular and trusted party across Osun State.”
It would be recalled that during Primate Ayodele's annual Thanksgiving programme in February, which Governor Adeleke attended, the prophet openly advised him against leaving the PDP, counselling him to remain with the party for his political advancement.
Furthermore, during the presentation of his annual prophecy book, "Warnings To The Nations," Primate Ayodele again advised Governor Adeleke to support Tinubu but to unequivocally remain in the PDP for his own safety.
He specifically warned the governor of a potential threat to his life should he decide to leave the PDP for the APC.
Primate Ayodele's exact words were: “If Adeleke goes to the APC, they will kill him. Let him stay in PDP and support Tinubu instead, but if he goes to APC, he will die.
“Stay in PDP, it’s a serious matter, and I am not saying this for any popularity, but I can tell you.”
