Family, Friends Mourn As Barrister Caroline Adeneye Holds Memorial Mass For Brother


Barrister Caroline Adeneye, wife of TV personality and top politician, Dayo Adeneye, alongside her siblings recently held a memorial mass for their late brother, Sir Osimen Collins Negbenebor.

The solemn ceremony took place on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ogudu, Lagos.

The memorial mass kicked off at exactly 12:05 pm, with two officiating priests – Rev. Fr. John Okoro, the parish priest and Rev. Fr. Christopher Arabi, respectively.

Rev. Fr. Okoro, read the gospel, from the book of John 5: 20-30, while Rev. Fr. Arabi read the homily.

He said beautiful things about late Collins Negbenebor and implored all those present to live a good life here on earth, because of the last day.

“We all would give accounts of how we spent our lives here on earth,” he declared.

Yeye Caroline Adeneye, wore a black flowing Organza Kaftan gown, designed with an embroidery neckline and a matching black beaded turban headgear to the event, while her siblings wore short white dresses and black doughnut turban caps.

Family and friends were all in attendance to lend their support to the grieving family at the memorial mass. 

Also in attendance were veteran musician, Kenny Saint Brown, her TV personality brother, ID Ogungbe and his wife, among others.

Late Collins Osimen Negbenebor was born on February 11, 1974, in Benin City, Edo State. He’s the first son of the late Micheal John and Eunice Negbenebor, and the only son of Madam Eunice.

He is the third child, among eight kids. Furthermore, he holds a B.Sc. degree in Microbiology. 

Osimen is survived by his wife, three sons, siblings and aged mother.

Barrister Caroline Adeneye, in an emotion-laden voice, gave the vote of thanks on behalf of the Negbenebor ‘s family at the gathering. 

She described her late brother as a cheerful giver, accommodating with an ever-present smile and kind heart.

“Osimen followed our father’s footsteps, by becoming a successful businessman and a great philanthropist. 

“His generosity and dedication to helping others were well-recognized by all,” she said.

Family and friends were later treated to sumptuous meals and drinks after the mass, at their family home in Ogudu, G.R.A, Lagos.
