‘Opay, Moniepoint, Others, Stopped From Onboarding New Customers' — CBN

Mobile money operators including fintech firms like OPay, Palmpay, Kuda Bank, and Moniepoint have been stopped from onboarding new customers.

The action was taken by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), according to a source who made the development known.

However, no circular has been served by the Apex bank to that effect.

The affected fintech companies were reported to have accounts being used for illicit foreign exchange transactions.
